![]() Meet Kim, RedCloud Senior Consultant. With nearly a decade of Microsoft experience and a background in racing, Kim brings a competitive edge to his role at RedCloud. He's goal oriented and strong in analyzing risk vs. reward. We had the chance to (virtually) sit down with him to hear more about his role and his racing career. -Briefly describe your role and how long you've been at RedCloud.
I've been working at RedCloud for three months assigned as a senior consultant to Turn 10 studios within the Xbox organization. In that role, I'm helping with partnership strategy and working more effectively with the automotive and motorsports industries. -What was it like to join RedCloud (boarding process)? Despite joining RedCloud amidst the COVID-19 outbreak, the onboarding process was easy, efficient, and very comfortable. Everyone I worked with could not have been more welcoming and helpful. -Given your background and other experiences, what stands out to you with RedCloud? As a seasoned professional in the technology, media, and automotive industries, it's always reassuring to work with companies that take success seriously. At the same time, RedCloud is clearly an organization that regards its people even more seriously, ensuring their talents are nurtured and everyone is given the opportunity to grow and excel. -What originally drew you to RedCloud? I had heard very good things from a respected, former Microsoft colleague, who worked closely with RedCloud and had nothing but positive experiences to share. After an introductory conversation with Brett Alston, it was clear that RedCloud was a great fit for me and my background, and I'm very happy with how everything has turned out. -Where do you see the future of consulting or the future of RedCloud? As companies (especially most recently) continue to explore ever more flexible ways of successfully conducting business, I expect the need for high-quality, high-level consulting personnel will continue. As an agency known for delivering just that, RedCloud is well positioned to continue as an invaluable resource to those organizations requiring industry-leading services. -Name one piece of technology you couldn’t live without and why? It would be easy to say my phone or Internet, but I'd honestly have to say I'd really miss my car. Not just because I'm an auto enthusiast and love driving, but because of the many exciting places that can be explored by car. As both a travel and outdoor enthusiast, some destinations simply require a little four-wheeled assistance to reach. -What are you looking forward to the most this year with RedCloud? I enjoy the consulting work I currently do with RedCloud and look forward to continued professional growth in that role and others. Plus, I'd also enjoy getting to know some of my RedCloud co-workers better, which has obviously been tough with COVID-19. Having spent a lot of time competing in various forms of racing (cars, bicycles, motorcycles, etc.), I've found that there are definitely lessons learned in competition that translate well to professional endeavors. In addition to clear goal setting and plan execution, I've also seen parallels in weighing risk vs. reward. The process of evaluating a tricky passing move on the racetrack is not dissimilar to choosing between safe and more aggressive business strategies. While not always easy, the more you do it the more comfortable you get with calculating the myriad factors involved in producing the intended result. Comments are closed.
